A barn rat, a journal, and a whole lot of passion

The experience of being an equestrian is filled with intense highs and lows. Growing up as the local barn rat, I heard so many stories swapped among the diverse community that makes up a barn. People would talk about their rides, what they were questioning, what they were celebrating and what they had struggled with. But we don't see those conversation online.

All too often we see criticism and negativity online. This prevents people from being vulnerable, asking questions, and talking about the reality of our lifestyle. If we want real change to happen, we have to be curious, we have to be kind, and we have to be a community.

The Barn Rat Chronicles is those in-barn conversations, made public. I want to inspire real conversations by sharing my own with you. Welcome to my journal.
